GRADUATES

recently graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.

While at the university, she was accepted into the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical School Honorary.

The daughter of Herman and Carole Horner of Karns City, she will begin a four-year residency at the University of Virginia Medical Center in July.

Huffmyer and her husband Andy Huffmyer live in Charlottesville, Va. They have one daughter.

graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor of arts degree in criminal justice administration from Waynesburg College.While attending the college, he was named to the dean's list every semester.The son of James and Diane Procz of Karns City, he plans to attend the Pennsylvania State Police Academy.

graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of science degree in human services from Geneva College.While at the college, she was named a dean's list student for three years, and was a member of the Psi Chi National Honor Society in psychology and the Geneva College marching band and drill team. She worked as an admissions tour guide and spent a year in the resident discipleship program.The daughter of Larry and Sandra Erdos of Butler, she is a 2000 graduate of Portersville Christian School.Erdos plans to pursue a graduate degree in social work at the University of Pittsburgh.

recently graduated from Cobb County Georgia Police Academy.The son of Daniel and Patty Hauserman of Cabot, he is a 1994 graduate of Knoch High School and the Butler Vocational Technical School.Velez has accepted a position with the Cobb County Sheriff's Department.

graduated with a juris doctorate degree from St. Thomas University School of Law.While at the university, she was the senior articles editor of the Law Review, a member of the moot court team, the treasurer of Phi Alpha Delta, a law clerk for federal magistrate judge Stephen Brown and a writing assistant for professor William Byrnes.She also worked as a law clerk for Vernis and Bowling in Miami.The daughter of Kevin and Bessie Jeffries of Mount Chestnut, she is a 1997 graduate of Slippery Rock High School and a 2001 graduate of Converse College. She also attended Butler County Community College and Chatham College.Jeffries is employed as an associate attorney with Vernis and Bowling.

recently graduated cum laude with a bachelor's degree in communications sciences and disorders from Clarion University.While at the university, she was named to the dean's list for four years. She was a member of the Phi Eta Sigma and Kappa Delta Pi honors societies and the National Student Speech, Hearing and Language Association. She also worked at the University Inn and as a gymnastics instructor at the Dancer's Studio in Clarion.The daughter of Gregory and Marie Brown of Butler, she is a 2000 graduate of Butler High School.Brown plans to pursue a master's degree in communication sciences and disorders at Clarion University.

graduated with a master's degree in business administration from Point Park University.The daughter of James and Debra Bartley of Saxonburg, she is a 2001 graduate of Westminster College.Bartley has accepted a position as director of operations for state Rep. Daryl Metcalfe, R-12th.

graduated with high distinction from the School of Arts and Sciences at Ohio Northern University. She earned a bachelor of arts degree in psychology, the honors program and art.At the university, she received the department honors award for psychology. She recently presented her senior project "Art Therapy and It's Application for Children who have Experienced Trauma," in Ada, Ohio.She was a member of the Phi Kappa Phi, Psi Chi and Alpha Lambda Delta honors societies and the Kappa Pi international art honors fraternity. Creekpaum was also a member of the Ohio Northern yearbook staff.She is the recipient of the outstanding yearbook member of the year award for photography and an art department scholarship to study at The Glass Axis in Columbus, Ohio. She also earned varsity letters for swimming.In 2003, she completed an internship with the Western Pennsylvania Caring Place.The daughter of Stephen and Krista Creekpaum of Slippery Rock, she is a 2000 magna cum laude graduate of Slippery Rock High School.Creekpaum plans to pursue a doctorate degree in clinical psychology in Indiana.

graduated with a bachelor of science degree in earth science from California (Pa.) University.While at the university, she was a member of the meteorology club and was a secretary and vice president of the Phi Sigma Pi National Honors Fraternity. She was the recipient of the Dr. and Mrs. Arthur Phillips Scholarship and participated in two Great Plains storm chases.She also worked in the office of earth sciences, was a weather anchor for the university's news program and was a member of the ski and snowboard club.The daughter of Jeff Koren of Cabot and Marcia Koren of Saxonburg, she is a 2000 graduate of Knoch High School.
