Mary 'Tootsie' Green

Mary B. "Tootsie" Green, 83, of Sunnyview Nursing Home, formerly of East Brady Street, died Tuesday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Aug. 6, 1920, in Valier, Jefferson County, she was a daughter of Stephen and Anna Bonyak Hudak.

She had been a salesperson at Montgomery Wards on Main Street for more than 25 years. She then was a housemother at Sarver Hall for student nurses at Butler Memorial Hospital until it closed. She then was a daycare instructor at the YWCA. She also worked at her family's business, Hudak Florist, for years.

She was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church and a former member of the Legion of the Moose and the Elks Auxiliary.

She enjoyed reading and music and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Surviving are two brothers, Eugene Hudak of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and David Hudak of Dunwoody, Ga.; and two sisters, Mrs. Richard (Elizabeth "Betty") Logan and Patrice "Patti" Erkman Crowe, both of Butler. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

She was the widow of Ralph A. Green, who died Dec. 28, 1972. An infant daughter and two brothers also preceded her in death.
