Lorna June Cloia
Lorna June Cloia, 79, of 106 Layton Drive died Monday at her home.
Born Nov. 24, 1924, in Kittanning, she was a daughter of Fred and Ethel Hollobaugh Byers.
She retired in November 1978 as a licensed practical nurse at the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center after 16 years. After that, she was a private duty nurse until 1991.
She was a member of St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Meridian, where she belonged to the Christian Mothers. She also was a member of the A.A.R.P. and the former Eagles Club. She was an avid card player and enjoyed reading and gardening.
Surviving are her companion, John McCabe of Butler; a sister, Mary A. Byers of Butler; four grandchildren, James Swigart of Dalton, Mass., Barbara Austin of Connecticut, Tommy Swigart of Germany and Becky Hopper of Pennsylvania; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter. Also surviving is her special friend, Melanie Renwick of Butler.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Harry Fred Byers; and a sister, Phyllis Byers Williams.
