Butler's Marra throws no-hitter at Kiski

Though her team's section schedule was over and her high school career had just two games remaining, Megan Marra proved that it's never too late to pitch the game of a lifetime.

The Butler senior pitcher struck out seven in a no-hit performance in the Golden Tornado's 9-0 softball win over Kiski Area Thursday.

Three Tornado errors kept Marra from recording a perfect game.

"For her to realize that she can control batters by mixing her pitches, that was the biggest thing," said Butler coach Tanya Schnur. "Her changeup was really working for her today."

"It was just a good day for me," said Marra. "But that's definitely a good way to go out."

Marra tallied a few starts last season in place of regular starter Chelsea Perry.

"Megan was still a bit wild last year, but has definitely improved," said Schnur.

"Chelsea was really good," said Marra. "I just wanted to be as good as she was."
