Margaret "Maggie" Kranbacher of Butler celebrated her 85th birthday with a family dinner

The former Margaret Cherry was born May 8, 1919. She married William Kranbacher on May 8, 1939. He is deceased.

She has three children, William Kranbacher Jr. and Sandra McNees, both of Butler; and Darlene Lerch of Richmond, Va. She also has seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Kranbacher is retired from A.E. Troutman's Department Store.

She is an active 59-year member of the Lyndora American Legion Auxiliary Unit 778. She is also a member of the Democratic Women's Club, Tanglewood Senior Center and volunteers her time assisting patients with bingo at the Veteran Affairs Medical Center.

She is a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, where she sings in the choir and belongs to the church's 55 and Alive group.
