3 a.m. today - Sheila Halley reported that someone took her 2000 dark blue S-10 Chevrolet extended cab pickup truck parked outside her Federal Street home. The pickup, which has a black toolbox in its bed, has the Pennsylvania plate YMY-6785. Halley told police there was an extra set of keys in the vehicle's console.10:17 p.m. Sunday - A car driven by Christopher Lachendro, 21, of 204 Arlington Ave. struck a guardrail on Route 8 near Pepperland Boulevard. Lachendro, who was cited for careless driving, was taken with undisclosed injuries to Butler Memorial Hospital.2:30 a.m. Sunday - Eric Rodgers, 24, of 237 Oakvale Blvd. was arrested for driving under the influence on Zeigler Avenue.1:27 a.m. Sunday - Joseph Bailie IV, 27, of 188 New Castle St., Apt. 8, was arrested for driving under the influence after his vehicle crashed on Mercer Street.Police said Bailie's vehicle traveled off the road, onto a sidewalk and up an embankment, striking and damaging steps and a handrail at 220 Mercer St. The vehicle continues through the yard and struck steps at 224 Mercer St. before sliding down the embankment.11:22 p.m. Thursday - Nicholas Serafine, 19, of Butler faces numerous traffic violations stemming from a short pursuit that began on Broad Street.Police said Serafine's vehicle traveled the wrong way on Chestnut Street and continued, as police gave chase, onto Pearl, Bluff and Federal streets before turning back onto Pearl Street. He failed to stop at several stop signs on the way.He stopped his vehicle on Pearl Street and, along with two juveniles, whom police did not identify, got out of the vehicle and ran. All three were later found. Police found marijuana and several cans of beer in the car.Serafine is charged with fleeing or attempting to elude police, three counts of failing to stop at a stop sign, two counts of traveling the wrong way on a road and driving with a suspended license.Also, he is charged with underage drinking, possession of a small amount of marijuana, driving an unregistered vehicle, and driving without insurance. The juveniles were not cited.
4:26 a.m. Sunday - Jered Lemasters, 19, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 422 in Franklin Township.10:45 p.m. Saturday - An unidentified vehicle struck a car parked at the Rock House Bar parking lot on Route 8 in Clay Township and did not stop following the crash. Amy Gilson of Prospect owns the car.3:04 a.m. Saturday - Kenneth Lewis, 53, of Indiana, Indiana County, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on New Castle Road in Butler Township.1:05 p.m. Friday - A sport utility vehicle driven by Matthew Diehl, 44, of Butler and a car driven by Nicole Hepler, 20, of Kittanning collided on Route 8 in Center Township. Hepler, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries.10:25 p.m. Thursday - A car driven by Dale Hawks, 35, of Evans City struck an embankment and rolled onto its side on Brownsdale Road in Forward Township. Hawks was flown by medical helicopter with undisclosed injuries to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. His condition was not known this morning.Thursday - A mobile home on Hoot Owl Road in Connoquenessing Township was burglarized between April 2 and Thursday. Police did not indicate if any property was taken. Robert Geisler of McKees Rocks, Allegheny County, owns the home.Tuesday - Several undisclosed items were taken between 2:14 and 7:30 a.m. in a burglary at TJ's Hideaway bar on Spithaler School Road in Forward Township.April 17 - Susan Rapp said someone took a debit card and 30 prescription pills from her vehicle at her Letto Drive home in Center Township. The card was later used at a convenience store to make $121 in purchases. The theft occurred between April 14 and 17.
12:13 a.m. Friday - An unidentified vehicle, possibly a silver sedan, struck two mailboxes and sheared off a utility pole along Center Church Road in Pine Township, Mercer County and did not stop following the crash.
