Stephens, Queensland, Australia, residents Cheryl Smith and Michael Yost, formerly of Butler, exchanged wedding vows at 3 p.m. Jan. 17 at Nobby Beach, Gold Coast, Australia. The Rev. Jaime Strauss officiated. A reception was held at the Palm Beach Surf Club.

The bride is the daughter of Bill Smith of Whitianga, New Zealand and Frances Johnston of Tauranga, New Zealand. Parents of the bridegroom are Bill and Justine Yost of Butler.

Her brother, Selwyn Smith of Whangamata, New Zealand, presented the bride for marriage.

The maid of honor was Bridget Fennell of Stephens.

Serving his brother as best man was Bill Yost of Butler.

The bride attended Fairfield High School.

The bridegroom attended Butler High School and Robert Morris College.

The couple is living in Stephens.
