Lynn and Mattie Burtner of Butler will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a one-week vacation to Bermuda.

Burtner and the former Mattie Courson were married on April 21, 1954, at the First United Methodist Church of Butler.

They are the parents of two daughters, Holly Burtner-Moore and Germaine Schaeffer, both of Butler.

They also have two grandchildren.

Burtner is a Grove City College alumnus and a registered professional chemical engineer retired from Witco in Petrolia.

He is a 50-year member of Chicora Argyle Lodge 540, a retired district deputy grand master of the 27th Masonic District of Pennsylvania and a 33 degree Scottish Rite Mason. He teaches the Seeker's Sunday school class at Trinity Presbyterian Church and is a member of Butler Kiwanis Club.

Mrs. Burtner is a retired educational secretary from Butler High School. She is a member of the Butler Christian Womens' Club, the Buttercup Garden Club, Maqueda Chapter 421 of the Order of Eastern Star, and is a member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church Ruth Circle.
