Butler residents Kathryn Kay and Michael Ohler exchanged wedding vows barefoot on the beach at 9 a.m. March 1 at Magan's Bay in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. The Rev. Jeff Gargano officiated. The couple will host a reception in May.

The bride is the daughter of the late John and Florence Kay. Parents of the bridegroom are Ilse Ohler of Indiana and the late Ellsworth Ohler.

The witnesses were Teri Lea Moretti of Butler and Jodi Moretti of Tarentum.

The bride graduated in 1977 from Butler High School. She works for AK Steel in Butler.

The bridegroom graduated in 1981 from Elderton High School and served in the United States Armed Forces from 1982-1998. He works at IBM in Pittsburgh.

Following a honeymoon in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, the couple will make their home in Butler.
