2:47 p.m. Wednesday - A counterfeit $20 bill was received at the Dollar General Store on Main Street. An employee noticed the bogus bill and called police. The employee did not know when the bill was received.11 a.m. Wednesday - Whitney Livingston, 18, of 621 Bessemer Ave., Apt. 3, is facing extradition to Missouri on criminal charges, following a traffic stop at Penn and Washington streets.Police, after stopping the woman's car, found she was wanted in Missouri on charges of forgery of checks. Livingston was placed in the Butler County Prison, and awaits arraignment on a fugitive of justice charge. Missouri authorities notified police they would seek to extradite her.Butler police, meanwhile, charged Livingston with driving without a license, driving without insurance, driving an unregistered vehicle, and unauthorized use of a vehicle, stemming from the traffic stop.7:35 p.m. Monday - Robert Brocious, 20, of Pittsburgh was arrested after allegedly threatening William Powell III, no age given, of Ellwood City, Lawrence County, with a box cutter at P.J. Billiards on Main Street.Brocious, who is charged with terroristic threats and simple assault, was placed in Butler County Prison on a probation violation.
8:54 p.m. Friday - Jason Smathers, 24, of 135 Thornwood Road was arrested for driving under the influence after his car crossed the center line on McQuistion Road and collided with a box truck driven by Larry Schad, 50, of 104 Dolphin Drive.Smathers' car, following the collision, struck a utility pole guide wire after going off the road and into a yard. Smathers suffered minor injuries.In addition to DUI, Smathers is charged with reckless driving, driving too fast for conditions, failing to drive in his lane of traffic and a vehicle registration violation.
Saturday - Elaine Curley, 35, of 319 N. Center St. was arrested after allegedly stabbing a man during a domestic incident at the couple's home.Police said the defendant stabbed Jason Curley, 34, in the stomach with a knife. He was taken with injuries to United Community Hospital in Grove City.Elaine Curley was arraigned on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and harassment, and placed in the Mercer County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bond.12:45 a.m. March 18 - Derek Hoffman, 23, of Ridgeway Avenue was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence in the borough.1:15 p.m. March 16 - Phillip Schneider, 54, of Franklin Place, and Dianna Schneider, 40, of Lincoln Avenue, Grove City were arrested following a domestic dispute at Schneider's home. Both are charged with simple assault and harassment.March 15 - Someone unsuccessfully attempted to break into the George J. Howe Co. on West Main Street.March 15 - Vandals damaged lights in the restrooms at Grove City's Memorial Park. Damage was estimated at $200.March 15 - Police found a blue Roadmaster mountain bike in the borough. The owner can claim the bike by calling the police station.2:30 a.m. March 13 - Hulbert Russell, 58, of Blacktown Road, Grove City, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on South Center Street.March 13 - James Lebron, 19, of Highland Avenue was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct and underage drinking after a domestic dispute at his home. Lebron was arraigned on charges and placed in the Mercer County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bond.
2:05 p.m. Wednesday - Dana Baptiste, 24, of 111 Tuck Lane, Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 356 in Butler Township.12:13 a.m. Wednesday - An unidentified vehicle struck a utility pole along Route 308 in Venango Township and drove off with power lines laying on the road.12:10 p.m. Tuesday - A pickup truck driven by Frank Rome, 79, of Cabot and a van driven by Corey Fierst, 24, of Butler collided at Clearfield Road and Route 422 in Clearfield Township. Nathan Fierst, 22, of Butler, a passenger in the car who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries.Tuesday - Kevin Wolfe, 18, of Franklin Township was charged with criminal mischief after he allegedly ignited carbon dioxide cartridges, blowing up a pair of mailboxes - one on Kennedy Road in Prospect and another on West Brewster Road in Franklin Township.9:30 p.m. Monday - Christopher Rucker, 42, of 357 Petrolia Road was arrested for allegedly assaulting a 39-year-old woman at the couple's Fairview Township home. Rucker is charged with simple assault and harassment.3:30 p.m. Monday - Police are searching for an unknown suspect in an apparent case of road rage at Bruin and Fairview roads in Washington Township.The incident occurred after Christopher Anschutz, 19, of Parker was stopped in his car at the intersection. A burgundy Camaro drove up behind Anschutz's car and the driver got out of the vehicle. The driver walked up to Anschutz's car and punched out two side windows. The unknown suspect drove off east on Fairview Road.8:15 a.m. Monday - A sport utility vehicle driven by Julian Parenti, 19, of Forestville skidded on an ice patch on Benbrook Road in Center Township and rolled onto its side.Friday - A gun and two blank checks were taken in a burglary at the Towerview Drive home of Donald Kriley in Summit Township. The burglary occurred between March 15 and Friday.March 9 - A girl, whom police did not identify, faces charges after she was found with suspected drugs and drug paraphernalia at Moniteau High School in Cherry Township.
