7:01 p.m. Monday - A car driven by Rachel Caplan, 22, of 130 Rancindin Road struck the rear of a sport utility vehicle on South Main Street. Brenda Demello, 48, of New Kensington, Westmoreland County, who was driving the SUV, was taken with minor injuries to Butler Memorial Hospital.Saturday - Keith Gary, 20, of 219 Ridge Ave. was charged with false identification to law enforcement authorities after he allegedly gave a bogus name to police investigating a domestic dispute case.
8:15 p.m. Saturday - Landon Donahey, 22, of Lyndora was arrested after he allegedly tried to drive off from police and nearly struck an officer.The incident occurred after police were called to a Bessemer Avenue residence to serve a warrant on an unidentified suspect, who was spotted in Donahey's car. Police ordered Donahey to stop the car. But instead, police said he drove off, narrowly missing a township officer before slamming into a fence owned by AK Steel.Donahey was arraigned on charges of aggravated assault and reckless endangerment, and placed in the Butler County Prison in lieu of $20,000 bond.
7 a.m. Monday - An ice patch on the same section of Route 58, about three-tenths of a mile west of Stowe Road in Allegheny Township, was blamed for causing three vehicle crashes minutes apart.At 6:59 a.m., a truck driven by Tina Wentling, 40, of St. Petersburg, Clarion County, skidded off the road and struck an embankment. Wentling, who was wearing a seatbelt, suffered minor injuries.A minute later, Kathryn McCall, 19, of Parker lost control of her car and struck a utility pole.At 7:01 a.m., a car driven by Dixie Strauser, 50, of Petrolia skidded off the road and struck an embankment. Strauser, who was wearing a seatbelt, suffered minor injuries.3:47 p.m. Saturday - A tire on a U-Haul truck blew out and came off its rim on Interstate 79 in Lancaster Township, traveled across the median and struck a car on the highway.Gabriel Davis, 32, of Cranberry Township was driving the truck. Daniel Slowey, 22, of Pittsburgh was driving the car.1:30 p.m. Saturday - A sport utility vehicle driven by Jean Walker, 45, of Cabot skidded off Route 356 in Jefferson Township and struck several small trees and shrubbery.Saturday - Travis Thompson of Butler reported that someone took a stereo from his sport utility vehicle at the Clearview Mall parking lot in Center Township. The theft occurred between 4:25 and 9:10 p.m.1:15 p.m. March 16 - A car driven by Carla Bratschie, 33, of New Castle and a pickup truck driven by Brian Williams, 41, of Pittsburgh collided on Interstate 79 in Worth Township.
3:30 a.m. Sunday - Michael Mercurio, 18, of Kittanning was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence at Route 66 and Manor Drive in Manor Township, Armstrong County.
