Elizabeth J. Gasparin

Elizabeth J. "Betty" Gasparin, 78, of Middlesex Township, died Sunday morning at UPMC Passavant in McCandless.

Born June 17, 1925, in Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of Albert and Anna Guentner Gallagher.

She was the secretary for Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church in Glade Mills for 35 years, and was still working there one day a week. She was also a member of the church.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Brian (Patricia) Stirling of Harmony; three sons, Mark C. and Gerald L. Gasparin, both of Butler, and Noel J. Gasparin of Annapolis, Md.; three sisters, Mrs. Clarence (Ann) Holden of Bayonet Point, Fla., Mrs. Charles (Nora) Baldoff of Hermitage and Mary Readel of Polk. Six grandchildren also survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester C. Gasparin, whom she married Sept. 17, 1946, and who died May 14, 1996. She was also preceded by eight brothers and sisters, and twin grandsons.

GASPARIN - Friends of Elizabeth J. "Betty" Gasparin, who died Sunday, March 21, 2004, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church, Route 8, Glade Mills, with the Rev. Dan Maurer, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Coylesville.Memorials may be made to the Building Fund of Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church, 1304 E. Cruikshank Road, Butler, PA 16002, or to Mars Public Library, P.O. Box 415, Mars, PA 16046.
