ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Tampa Bay Devil Rays outfielder Josh Hamilton was suspended Friday for the 2004 season for violating baseball's drug policy.

Hamilton, the first pick in the 1999 amateur draft, already had been given a 30-day suspension Feb. 17. Under the new suspension, he isn't eligible for reinstatement until spring training next year, the commissioner's office said.

IRVING, Texas - Keyshawn Johnson was reunited with Bill Parcells Friday, giving the Dallas Cowboys the big target - and flamboyant personality - they've lacked since Michael Irvin retired.The acquisition was settled once Joey Galloway accepted a contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Galloway's approval was the final hurdle in completing a trade that was discussed for nearly a month.

Three area graduates helped the Thiel College track and field squads to strong performances at the Disney Relays in Orlando, Fla.Adam Crawford, a sophomore from A-C Valley, placed second in the javelin with a throw of 170 feet, 5 inches.Buddy Nemcheck, a senior from Karns City, was part of a pair of school records: the 3,200-meter relay (8 minutes, 58.74 seconds) and the 6,400 relay (20:35.12). Both squads finished fifth overallThe Thiel men's squad placed fifth out of 10 teams.In the women's meet, sophomore Kirsten Schrecongost, a graduate of Moniteau, was also part of a school record as a member of the sprint medley relay team (4:42.79, sixth place).

Butler graduate Brian Belowich, a senior on the Carnegie Mellon University swim team, helped the Tartans' 400-yard medley relay team place fifth at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships Friday in St. Peter's, Mo.Belowich, Brian McCarthy, Brian Jucha and Chris Pearson swam the event in 3:23.95. The top eight placers at nationals earn All-America status.
