NATRONA HEIGHTS, Allegheny County - Alle-Kiski Medical Center's Allegheny Valley Hospital will host Margaret Thomas, a health insurance specialist with the Center for Medicare/Medicaid Services on Monday.

Thomas will discuss the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement and Modernization Act of 2003. This legislation provides seniors and people with disabilities with a prescription drug plan and different Medicare benefits.

GIBSONIA, Allegheny County - St. Barnabas Medical Center is offering flu immunizations for free with a suggested donation to the organization's Pennies for Patients program.The shots had cost $20 and now will benefit poor and low-income patients at St. Barnabas Nursing Home, Valencia Woods Nursing Center and the Arbors at Valencia Woods.The shots are available on a walk-in basis from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday.
