Julia S. Buzas

Julia S. Buzas, 93, of Butler, passed away Jan. 25, 2021, at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born Dec. 22, 1927, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary (Dunda) Sherba.

Julia was retired from the human resources department at PennDOT.

She was a member of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora, and was a former member of the repass committee in her church.

She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cooking and traveling.

Surviving are her three children, John Buzas of Butler, Cindy Buzas of California, and Mike Buzas of Butler; two grandsons, Parker Somes and Mike Ellefson; a goddaughter, MaryBeth Jameson; her sister, Sue Herman; her sons-in-law, Thomas Somes and Larry Ellefson; a niece, Gloria Hoffman, with whom she spent time; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Buzas, whom she married June 18, 1947, and who passed away Sept. 4, 2008; her daughter; two brothers; and three sisters.
