Remember a veteran with kindness today
Nov. 11 is here. It is a day to remember all those men and women who served or are serving in the Armed Forces across this great nation and the world.
Everyone in our community knows a friend, father, mother, son, daughter or relative that has or is serving our country.
I urge you to if you can, send a card — many, many stores supplied with Veterans Day cards — 50 cents, one dollar or more. Or send a note to say “thank you.”
If you don’t know a veteran, send one to the Butler VAMC. I am sure they will see that a veteran receives it.
Each day I read that someone who has served in World War II, Korea, Vietnam and the Middle East has passed away. Each year my list is shortened by one or two.
Please take the time to do this to brighten a Veterans Day.
Thank you for your service and sacrifice.
Ronda McConnell,
Butler
