Marilyn Rose Snyder, 88, of Butler passed away at 11:25 a.m. Thursday in her home after a long illness.

Born Dec. 12, 1930, in Summit Township, she was the daughter of the late Guy and Anna (Miller) Wiles.

Marilyn graduated from Butler High School in 1949. She continued her education at Slippery Rock University, graduating in 1952 as an RN and had worked at Butler County Memorial Hospital.

Soon thereafter, she married Bill Snyder on Aug. 16, 1952.

She was a member of North Street Christian Church.

Marilyn enjoyed the marching band in high school and had played the clarinet.

She was an accomplished cake decorator, enjoyed bowling, card club monthly and gardening.

She is survived by her three sons, Kevin Snyder of Chicora, Craig Snyder of Butler and Kirk (Tabitha) Snyder of Butler; three daughters, Lynn Deal of Butler, Chris (Louis) Hernandez of Los Angeles, Calif., and Lisa (Michael) Venditto of Glen Burnie, Md.; as well as 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Rachel Rumbaugh of Circleville, Ohio; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Snyder was preceded in death by her husband, William Elmer “Bill” Snyder, who passed away April 29, 2010; a sister, Betty Beckwith; three brothers, Vincent, Roland and Audra Wiles.

SNYDER — Friends of Marilyn Rose Snyder, who died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2019, will be received by the family from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E.
