National Aviary, 700 Arch St., will have extended hours until 9 p.m. as well as refreshments and music on Thursday and Dec. 20, 26, 27 and 28. Hours are daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $15 for adults and $14 for senior citizens and children 2 to 12. Call 412-323-7235.

Children’s Museum, Allegheny Square, hosts the 19th annual Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood Sweater Drive through Wednesday. “Rube Goldberg: The World of Hilarious Invention!” continues through May 5, “Native Voices” through Jan. 6 and “Tough Art” through Jan. 13. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. The museum will be closed Dec. 25 but will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 26 to 31. Heinz History Center, 1212 Smallman St., continues “Destination Moon: The Apollo 11 Mission,” which explores the space race and moon landing, through Feb. 18. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Admission is $18 for adults, $15 for senior citizens, and $9 for children 6 to 17. Military receive $2 off admission. Call 412-454-6000.

Carnegie Science Center, North Side, is presenting the Miniature Railroad & Village — Donora’s historic Cement City. The Lego exhibit “The Art of the Brick” runs through Jan. 7. Carnegie Museum of Natural History, 4400 Forbes Ave., hosts “Reptiles: Live!” through May 12. The Museums of Natural History and Art are open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, except closed Tuesdays. Hours are extended until 8 p.m. most Thursdays. Admission is $19.95 for adults, $14.95 for senior citizens, and $11.95 for children 3 to 18. Call 412-622-3131.

Fort Pitt Museum, Point State Park, presents “From Maps to Mermaids: Carved Powder Horns in Early America” through year end.
