John Mahler

John Mahler of Butler marked his 100th birthday Monday.

He was born Nov. 12, 1918, in Butler. He married Edna Mahler Sept. 17, 1941, in St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, McKean.

He has five children, Marianne Kern of Lutz, Fla., Joyce Whelan of Thomasville, N.C., Bob Mahler of Lutz, Fla., John J. Mahler of Butler and Peggy Rivers of Butler.

He also has 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Mahler was a B-17 bomber pilot during World War II. He is a retired superintendent for Pullman-Standard.

He is a lifelong member of First Methodist Church in Butler
