CENTER TWP — Tishy Hornsby was selected as a New Castle Playhouse Mini-Star for the fourth year.
She performed an original song in the singer/songwriter showcase at StageDoor Manor, a musical theater camp in New York. At the camp she achieved the master voice level and was in the musical “Pippin.” She was named best female ensemble member.
Hornsby sang for the Pittsburgh Riverhounds and the Butler Blue Sox during the summer.
She is a ninth-grade student at Butler Intermediate High School and the daughter of Dr. Andy and Marne Hornsby.

BEREA, Ohio — Erin Neff of Valencia earned a $12,000 Deans Scholarship from Baldwin Wallace University.
Neff is a graduate of Mars High School and is majoring in neuroscience and psychology,
She received the scholarship based on outstanding academic achievements in high school. This merit scholarship is renewable up to four years with good academic and social standing.
CENTER TWP — Rose Hornsby was selected recently as a New Castle Playhouse Mini-Star.She is a third grader at Center Township Elementary School and is the daughter of Dr. Andy and Marne Hornsby.—–—MARS — Mars High School Marching Band took first place in Class 3A competition at the Moon Area Marching Band Festival in Moon Township.The band earned high honors for music, visual and general effect. The band also placed second overall at the festival.The band's 2017-18 show, “Beethoven: Artistry in Motion,” features several of Ludwig van Beethoven's greatest hits.
