CHRIST COMMUNITY UNITED METHODIST

The red church offering from both Sunday services at Christ Community United Methodist Church 205 N. Duffy Road, benefits the First English Lutheran Church community dinner.

COVENANT PRESBYTERIAN

The Rev. William Jamieson is the guest minister Sunday at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St.

The People for Peace study group meets for lunch at noon Wednesday at the Forest Heights Clubhouse to plan study topics for the fall.

FIRST BAPTIST

The 2017 Senior Class of First Baptist Christian School, a ministry of First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., sponsors a yard sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday at King Cones Castle.

Women’s missionary fellowship meets from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday to help the school’s teachers with teaching materials.

Slippery Rock Baptist Camp campers give a report at the Sunday worship service. There is a luncheon and 1 p.m. worship service afterward.

FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN

First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St., has a special social hour after the 9:30 a.m. Sunday worship service to discuss the 3- to 5-year ministry plan. Leaders from the CAT survey committee and council members will introduce the new mission statement and the emphasis areas of ministry.

Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church for the Butler Area Lutheran Ministry, the Butler County Emergency Relief Initiative and the United Way of Butler County are accepting flood relief donations.

The finance committee meets at 10 a.m. Wednesday.

GRACE @ CALVARY LUTHERAN

Grace’s Closet, a free clothing bank at Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St., is open from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday and from 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 17.

The church council meets at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

GRACEWAY

GraceWay meets at the Center Township Elementary School on Mercer Road.

HILL UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St., has handbell music at the Sunday worship service.

The Intersection Community Church, previously Christ’s Outreach Church, at 120 Walker Avenue, has a new worship format at 10 a.m. Sundays.

MARS UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Mars United Presbyterian Church, 232 Crowe Ave., Mars, has a stewardship meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday in the church office.

Sunday the church welcomes guest organist Kathy Kelso and celebrates after services in Tarry ’n Talk. The membership committee also meets at 11:15 a.m. in the board room.

GriefShare meets at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the library.

The vacation Bible school review meeting is at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the board room.

OAK HILL ALLIANCE

Oak Hill Alliance Church, 2782 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township, hosts a ladies Ballet and Beauty Brunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 19. The event includes brunch, a live ballet solo performance and a demonstration by a professional makeup artist.

OLD UNION PRESBYTERIAN

Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars, collects household items for PRISM’s Garage Giveaway until Sunday. Deliver the donations to the conference room.

The women’s association is partnering with the Lighthouse to provide new school supplies for community children in need. Deliver donations to the church lobby by Aug. 20.

SAINT ANDREWS UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Jefferson St., gathers with other Presbyterian churches for a joint worship service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at the Masonic Shelter at Alameda Park, 184 Alameda Park Road.

After worship, there will be a giant church picnic. Host Hill United Presbyterian Church will provide hot dogs, desserts and refreshments. Saint Andrews members should take salads or a side dish large enough to serve 10 people. Include a card with the name of your dish and its ingredients so those with food allergies know what is safe for them to eat.

SPRINGDALE LUTHERAN

The Rev. Dennis Protzman is the guest pastor Sunday at Springdale Lutheran Church, 1061 Mahood Road, West Sunbury. Holy Communion is offered at the service. There is a church picnic after the service.

The church council meets at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

ST. JOHN'S REFORMED

St. John’s Reformed Church, 494 Evans City Road, hosts a Sundae Night Concert featuring bluegrass music of the Echo Valley Group at 7 p.m. Sunday. The family friendly evening includes ice cream sundaes.

TRINITY LUTHERAN

The outreach ministry of Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive, Center Township, meets at 11:15 a.m. Sunday.

The August gathering is at 6 p.m. Monday at Grace’s. To participate, call the church office at 724-287-1977.

The ladies quilting group meets at 9 a.m. Aug. 17.
