Walter J. Janosky

Walter J. Janosky, 92, of Natrona Heights passed away Dec. 28 at the VA Butler Healthcare Community Living.

Born June 14, 1924, in New Kensington, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Ostrowski Janosky.

Walter was a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a POW in the Battle of the Bulge.

He worked for 35 years as a design engineer for PPG in the fiberglass research center. He also worked at the Mine Safety Co., Paragon Plastics and Liberty Mirror.

Walter enjoyed being a Walmart greeter. He was a member of the River Forest County Club. He also was a member of the Blessed Sacrament where he served as an usher. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and hunting.

Surviving are his daughter, Karen (John) Trempus of Butler; his grandchildren James Janosky and Lindsay Tagle of Florida; and his great-grandchildren, Tessa and Ethan, of Florida.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Trulik Janosky; his son, James Janosky; brothers, Joseph, Bernard, Benjamin, Stanley, Thomas and Frank; and his sisters, Josephine Mentcky, Stella Janosky and Helen Tady.

JANOSKY — There was no visitation or services for Walter J. Janosky, who died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016.Interment with military honors provided by the Saxonburg American Legion 683 was conducted at the Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, Tarentum.The Fox Funeral Home, Saxonburg, is assisting the family with arrangements.For more information, visit www.foxfuneralhomeinc.com.
