David Donald Turner
David Donald Turner, 69, of Slippery Rock passed away Tuesday at the VA Hospital in Oakland.
Born Sept. 2, 1947, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Donald and Mary Turner.
Dave was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was retired from the railroad, having worked most of his life for Conrail and Norfolk Southern.
Dave was very artistic in many ways, but will always be remembered by the beautiful and unique hand-carved canes, which he gave as gifts to others. He loved fishing and being in nature, but most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren, Abbi and Silas.
He is survived by his sons and grandchildren, Chance Turner and his wife, Jennifer, and their son, Silas, of Mars, and Jacob Turner and his daughter, Abbigail, of Butler. He is also survived by his brother, Dan Turner, of California, and his sister, Carol Sommer, of Illinois.
TURNER — In keeping with the wishes of Dave Turner, who died Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017, there will not be a public visitation or funeral service.The family will conduct a private memorial later.
