Richard L. Slomer

Richard L. Slomer, 60, died at 8:04 p.m. Tuesday at his home following a sudden illness.

Rich was born Oct. 15, 1956, in Butler, a son of John and Dorothy “Dottie” Slomer.

He worked at U.S. Air as a mechanic and later as a machinist at American Industries.

He was a loyal husband, father and friend who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.

In addition to his parents of Butler, he is survived by his wife, Emma Wampler Slomer, who he married July 16, 1987; three children, Melissa and Chance Wampler of Butler and Richelle Slomer of Berlin Center; his brother, John (Ann) Slomer Jr. of Fenelton; his sister, Paula (Joseph McMurray) Slomer of Butler; two nieces; one nephew; four great-nieces; one great-nephew; and his dog, “Red.”

SLOMER — The funeral for Richard L. Slomer, who died Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2016, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Weber Funeral Home in Lisbon, Ohio, with the Rev. Tina Gallaher officiating. Friends may call one hour before the service.For more information, visit www.weberfh.com.
