Madelynn W. “Mitzie” Staaf

Madelynn W. “Mitzie” Staaf, 94, of Richland Township, formerly of Mars, died Sunday afternoon at UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Township.

Born Sept. 14, 1922, in Penn Township, she was the daughter of the late James and Florence Lloyd Wilson.

Mitzie had worked as a bank teller at the Mars National Bank for 18 years. Before that she had worked in the metallurgical lab at Armco for five years.

She was a member of the Crestview Community Church, the Mars Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Mars AARP.

Surviving are her daughter, Annetta Setzenfand of Gibsonia; her son, Robert C. Staaf of Mars; her grandchildren, John (Beth), Jeff, Dale (Meghan) and Robert; her great-grandchildren, Nichole, Amber, Sarah and Rylan; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Staaf, whom she married Aug. 8, 1944, and who died Jan. 27, 1996, by her sister, Dorothy “Dot” Kline; and her brother, Lloyd “Cy” Wilson.

STAAF — Friends of Madelynn W. “Mitzie” Staaf, who died Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016, are invited to a memorial service on Nov. 26 at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Crestview Community Church, 210 Kline Ave., P.O. Box AA, Callery, with the Rev. Robert Goossen, pastor, officiating.Burial will be at the Brownsdale Cemetery in Penn Township. Memorials may be made to the church in her memory.Arrangements are under the direction of the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.Condolences are available at www.mcdonald-aeberli.com.
