Eleanor C. McCool

Eleanor C. McCool, 92, of Zelienople, formerly of Kittanning, passed away Thursday at the Passavant Retirement Community.

Born Feb. 3, 1924, in New Kensington, she was the daughter of the late Karl D. and Emily Vogel Kline.

Eleanor was Lutheran. She belonged to several organizations including, the Aluminum City Order of the Eastern Star, the Armstrong County Historical Society and the Nelly Bly Questers. In the 1960s, she was mother adviser of Rainbow Girls Assembly 39 in Kittanning. Eleanor volunteered in the kitchen for Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed playing bridge over the years. Eleanor was an avid sports fan and loved cheering on the Pirates. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughters, Erin (Mark) Mashuda of Mars and Emily (Jack) Egley of Grove City; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents, Eleanor was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William R. McCool, who died in 2003; two brothers; and one sister.

McCOOL — A memorial service for Eleanor C. McCool, who died Thursday, Aug. 25, 2016, will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Seaman Memorial Chapel at Passavant Retirement Community, 105 Burgess Drive, Zelienople, with the Rev. Wilfred Goetze, officiating.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her honor to Orphans of the Storm Inc., P.O. Box 838, Route 85 East, Kittanning, PA 16201.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.boylanfuneralservices.com.
