Mary Evelyn Reddick Bencic Parton
Mary Evelyn Reddick Bencic Parton, 85, of Cannonsburg, formerly of Ralston Road, Slippery Rock, passed away at 1:05 a.m. Monday following a short illness.
She was born Aug. 19, 1930, on the Reddick family farm in Slippery Rock to Henry Joel Reddick and Grace Martin Reddick.
She married Michael Bencic, who preceded her in death, and she married Donald Parton Sept. 29, 1979, and he preceded her in death Aug. 23, 2006.
She was a homemaker and retired as a cashier from Grove City College. In her younger years, she was an avid bowler.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda K. Ardine of Grove City; three sons, Michael E. and his wife, Laura, Bencic of Slippery Rock, Gary D. Bencic and his wife, Sara, of Homer City, Pa., and James H. Bencic and his wife, Sue, of Cecil, Pa.; her sister, Kathryn McCandless of Slippery Rock; her brother, Henry Joel Reddick Jr. of Jackson Center, Pa.; seven grandchildren, Sarah, Meghan, Carrie, Jessica, Rachel, Rosemary and Lauren; and six great-grandchildren, Richie, Gabriel, Max, Malea, Christina and Ethan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; her brother, Donald Reddick; and her sister, Elsie Ferry.
REDDICK — Family of Mary Evelyn Reddick Bencic Parton, who died Monday, May 23, 2016, will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Thursday at Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery RockFuneral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Doug Turner, pastor of Highland Presbyterian Church, Slippery Rock, presiding.Interment will be at Restland-Lincoln Memorial Park, Monroeville.
