Anne (Pavlisin) Cooper

Anne (Pavlisin) Cooper, 91, of Butler passed away at 10:50 p.m. Sunday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.

She was born Sept. 18, 1924, in Elkhorn, W.Va., to the late Stephen Pavlisin and Annie (Barna) Pavlisin.

Mrs. Cooper was a graduate of Bluefield High School in Bluefield, W.Va. She was a member of Grace@Calvary Lutheran Church.

She worked at Butler Armco from 1942 to 1945. In her later years, she went to work at Ralph's Shoe Store from 1968 until her retirement in 2001.

Mrs. Cooper enjoyed sewing, playing cards and especially being a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, John Albert Cooper of Virginia Beach, Va.; one grandson, Jason Alan Cooper and his wife, Cheryl, of Chesapeake, Va.; two great-grandchildren, Olivia Grace Cooper of Chesapeake, Va., and Lauren Elizabeth Epps of Chesapeake, Va.; one brother, Steven Pavlisin of Wheat Ridge, Colo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Lorraine “Bud” Cooper, who she married Dec. 10, 1945, and who passed away June 18, 1968; one brother, Michael Pavlisin; one sister, Julia Zavacky; and one sister-in-law, Alice Pavlisin.

COOPER — Friends of Anne (Pavlisin) Cooper, who died Sunday, April 24, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E.
