Michael Cirillo

Michael Cirillo, 86, of Butler passed away Thursday at his home.

Born in Butler on June 6, 1929, he was a son of the late Paul and Michelena Lapomardo Cirillo.

He was retired from Pullman Standard, where he worked in the paint shop.

A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Army.

He was an avid sports fan, especially of high school sports.

He was a member of Saint Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church and the Sons of Italy.

He is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by six brothers, Peter Cirillo, Dominick Cirillo, Steve Cirillo, Anthony Cirillo, John “Jinks” Cirillo and William Cirillo; and six sisters, Helen Hartwell, Mary Cirillo, Emma Barkley, Josephine “Jodie” Cirillo, Theresa Rogers Beck and Angelina Schaffner.

CIRILLO — Friends of Michael Cirillo, who died Thursday, March 31, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Martin Funeral Home, 429 Center Ave., Butler.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Saint Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church.Burial will take place at Saint Michael's Cemetery.The bereavement group of Saint Michael the Archangel Parish will meet at 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home to conduct a scriptural wake service.For more information, visit www.martinfh.net.
