Stebbins out as Moniteau hoop coach
CHERRY TWP — Moniteau Athletic Director John Stoughton confirmed Tuesday night the district has opened its girls basketball coaching position.
Stoughton said the school will start taking applications right away and will look to hire the best candidate.
Moniteau will start regular season play Dec. 4 and the first practice date is Nov. 16.
Stoughton declined to comment on why Moniteau decided to open the position. Matt Stebbins has coached the Warriors the past three seasons and compiled a record of 41-28.
Moniteau made the playoffs all three seasons Stebbins has coached and went 15-9 with a first-round playoff win last season.
Stebbins declined comment.
