Lawrence 'Larry' Groger

Lawrence “Larry” Groger of Butler celebrated his 90th birthday with family and friends at an open house at the Unionville Fire Co.

He was born Sept. 23, 1925, in Meadville. He married the former Betty Lauderman on July 19, 1947, at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Conneautville.

He has three children, Julia Schmeider of Butler, Janet Groger of Butler and Joan Wilson of West Sunbury.

He also has six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Groger retired from Bessemer and Lake Erie Railroad as a communications maintainer.

He is a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Butler. Groger also is a member of the Tri State Country Music Association.
