Ray and Edith Atkinson

Ray and Edith Atkinson of Meridian celebrated 70 years of marriage with a family dinner.

Atkinson married the former Edith Domhoff on Sept. 29, 1945, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Zelienople.

They have four children, Rose Vaughn of Slippery Rock, Darlene Blinn of Lansing, Mich., Raymond J. Atkinson of Butler and David Atkinson of Butler.

They also have six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Atkinson retired from Spang and Co. where he worked as a cable tool sales coordinator. He was a U.S. Navy pharmacist mate medic attached to the Second Marine Division.

Mrs. Atkinson retired from VA Butler Healthcare where she worked as a nursing assistant.

The Atkinsons attend Christ Community United Methodist Church in Butler Township.
