Catherine M. Pritts

Catherine M. Pritts, 99, of Valencia, Middlesex Township, died Friday evening in the comfort of her home with her family at her side.

Born in Meyersdale, Pa. on June 20, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Homer Y. and Elizabeth Schrock Fritz.

Catherine had worked for 20 years as a nurse's aide at St. John's Convalescent Home in Valencia, now Valencia Woods.

She also did volunteer work at St. John Specialty Care Center in Mars, where she enjoyed sewing and quilting.

She had been a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Mars, where she also sewed and quilted. She had attended New Life Christian Ministries in Saxonburg.

Surviving are two daughters, Weeta McAfee and her husband, Ronald, of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Donna Miller of Middlesex Township; a son, Charles T. Pritts and his wife, Terri, of Middlesex Township; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Evelyn Decker of Middlesex Township.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Pritts, who she married on Dec. 7, 1942, and who died on March 15, 2005, and by a sister, Mary Lou Fritz.

PRITTS — Friends of Catherine M. Pritts, who died on Friday, Sept. 4, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.A service will follow at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Dr. Chris Marshall officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Gardens, Indiana Township, Pa.Directions and condolences are available at www.mcdonald-aeberli.com.
