WASHINGTON — Vice President Joe Biden will be marking the Labor Day holiday in Pittsburgh.

The office of the vice president announced Monday that Biden will travel to Pittsburgh on Sept. 7 “to participate in Labor Day festivities.”

BLAIRSVILLE — A man is dead and a woman hospitalized after their all-terrain vehicle flipped in Western Pennsylvania.Michael Winklosky was killed in the crash around 6:30 p.m. Sunday in Derry Township, Westmoreland County.Police say the 49-year-old lost control of the ATV in a wooded area near Route 316 and Chestnut Ridge Road.

PHILADELPHIA — Transportation officials say they will halt work on major road construction projects in the Philadelphia area from Sept. 22 through Sept. 27 during Pope Francis' visit.Spokesman Gene Blaum said PennDOT's goal is to keep routes to suburban counties clear so visitors can come and go without delay.
