Regatta at Lake Arthur features boating and other water activities, music and fireworks over the course of the 17th annual event Saturday and Sunday at Moraine State Park. Hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday on the South Shore off Pleasant Valley Road. Admission is free. Visit www.lakearthurregatta.org.

Free Outdoor Discovery programs, hosted by the Butler County Parks and Recreation Department, take place Thursdays at Alameda Park. Tonight’s program is Honey Heroes at 6:30 p.m. in the Carousel Shelter. The program Aug. 6 is Creek Creatures.

Jennings Environmental Education Center, Route 528, Brady Township, is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and on weekends as scheduled. Trails are open daily from sunrise to sunset.

Succop Nature Park, 185 W. Airport Road, Penn Township, has trails, two ponds and spaces for outdoor activities and education. Visit www.aswp.org.

McConnells Mill State Park, Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County off Route 422, has the gristmill open through the end of September from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays. Interpretive tours are available at 1 and 3 p.m. Tours for groups may be scheduled by calling the Moraine State Park office at 724 368-8811.
