Tom Buzard

Thomas Michael Buzard, 61, of Parker went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday after a courageous battle with cancer. Tom passed away at his home with his loving family by his side.

Born on Jan. 23, 1954, in Butler County, he was the son of the late Thomas A. and Honey Foust Buzard.

Tom was married for 42 years to Sue E. Callander Buzard, who survives. They were married on Sept. 3, 1972, in Dutch Hill, Parker.

He was a graduate of the Allegheny-Clarion Valley, Class of 1971.

Upon graduation, Tom served in the U.S. Navy from 1971 to 1975. He was stationed for the majority of his service in Puerto Rico before being discharged with the rank of airmen ADJ2.

He was a member of the American Legion in Parker.

After his tour in the Navy, Tom was a drag line operator from 1977 to 1990. He later graduated from Triangle Tech and was an electrician and construction worker until his health left him unable to work.

He was a proud member of the Park Hill First Church of God in West Freedom. There he enjoyed being a youth leader and loved playing softball with the church for many years. He also served on the board of trustees.

Tom loved woodworking and especially making items for his grandchildren. He also was very fond of remodeling and was proud he was able to do most of the work himself.

In addition to his wife, Sue E. Callander Buzard, he is survived by his two daughters, Melanie (Korey) Keller of Erie and Lacy (Dan) Patrino of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; his son, Shane (Kristen) Buzard of Callensburg; his four sisters, Jeannie (Frank) Dittman of Louisiana, Lynn Grieff of Illinois, Susan Sarier of Nevada and Gail Barger of New Mexico; his nine grandchildren; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

Buzard — Visitation for Thomas Michael Buzard, who passed away Saturday, March 14, 2015, will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home, 201 S. Wayne St., Parker.Additional visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Park Hill First Church of God in West Freedom, Lime Plant Road, near Parker, with the Rev. Eric Mitchell officiating.Military service will be conducted by the VFW and the American Legion of Parker at the beginning of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at Mt.
