Weir 90th birthday
Ann Weir of Butler celebrated her 90th birthday with family and friends at an open house at the Butler Country Club.
The former Ann Eastman was born Oct. 6, 1924, in Norwalk, Conn. She married the late Edgar Weir on Dec. 15, 1951, in Washington, D.C.
She has three children, Edgar (Shelly) Weir Jr. of Texas, Rebecca (Alan) Weir of Silver Spring, Md., and Mary Ellen (Tom) Gallagher of Apple Valley, Minn.
She also has five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Weir is a former executive secretary of the U.S. Department of the Navy in Washington, D.C.
She has participated in many service organizations in Butler County and clubs including GFWC Intermediate League, Daughters of the American Revolution and Reading Club. She also helped raise funds for the YWCA.
