Voter rights clear
It would appear from newspaper articles and TV commentators that various congressmen, public officials and others are attempting to authorize illegal immigrants to vote in state and federal elections.
The U.S. Constitution in Amendment XV Section 1, Amendment XXIV Section 1 and Amendment XXVI, Section 1 permits citizens of the United States to vote.
The U.S. Constitution in Amendment XIV, Section 1 defines a citizen as “all persons born or naturalized in the United States.”
Therefore, any attempt to permit or allow an illegal immigrant or non-citizen to vote would be contrary to and a violation of the United States Constitution.
