Zarnick 90th birthday
Daniel Zarnick Sr. of Butler celebrated his 90th birthday with his family and friends at a surprise party at American Legion Post 117.
Zarnick was born June 23, 1923, in Butler. He married Nelle Fitzpatrick on June 26, 1947, at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church in Butler.
He has seven children, Kathryn Grossman, Daniel Zarnick Jr., Gary Zarnick, Maureen English and Theresa Osche, all of Butler, Constance Clark of Woodbridge, Va., and Robert Zarnick of Pittsburgh.
He also has 18 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Zarnick is retired from the Butler Veteran’s Administration Hospital and was the personnel administrator.
Zarnick is a lector and Eucharistic minister at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church. He is a member of the VFW, Fraternal Order of Eagles and Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks.
He is a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during World War II and the Korean War.
