Spay or neuter pets

In response to Pamela Phillips’ May 17 letter to the editor about an abandoned, pregnant dog, I understand how she feels.

My wife and I have helped many dogs and cats over the years, and it often takes a long time because of their fear of people.

However, every one that anyone is able to help makes it worth the effort.

Even now, in our seventies, we have three rescued cats as family pets.

The answer to pet overpopulation is spaying and neutering.

We are very fortunate here in Butler County to have an organization called Operation Spay/Neuter, which will help owners otherwise unable to have this done.

Operation Spay/Neuter can be reached at 724-287-7729.

Those who love animals should have their pets spayed or neutered to prevent heartbreaking stories like Phillips’ and the thousands of homeless, unwanted animals.
