Teachers, staff donate to children
BUTLER TWP — Teachers and staff members of the
Butler School District gathered donations and clothing for children during the holidays.District staff members donated $1,400, toys and clothing for children at the Butler County Children and Youth Agency. The gifts benefited children who may not have otherwise received presents, agency staff members said in thank-you letters to the district.In addition, 60 Butler Junior High School students got new winter coats after the fourth annual coat drive at the school. The coats were bought with $380 raised through staff jean days and donations from the administrators, a local women’s sorority, teachers from a neighboring school district and an anonymous donor.The junior high school guidance staff purchased clothing, toiletries and other gifts for students. In addition, some staff members also personally purchased new coats and clothing for students.
