ZELIENOPLE — The internationally recognized Irish trio, The Celtic Tenors, will perform in concert at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 27 at the Strand Theater, 119 N. Main St.
The Celtic Tenors, made up of Daryl Simpson, James Nelson and Matthew Gilsenan, have established themselves as the most successful classical crossover artists to emerge from Ireland.
In 2000, following an impromptu audition at EMI in London, the group was signed on the spot to an international record deal.
The three singers show flexibility in melding their voices to suit the appropriate classical, folk, Irish and pop genres.
The trio’s fifth album, “Hard Times,” is a collection of songs from North America, by songwriters including Stephen Foster and Bob Dylan, essentially a roots album with rich harmony-driven songs. The Tenors are scheduled to release their eighth international album this autumn.
The trio will be accompanied by musical director Colm Rogan.
Seats are reserved and $39. Tickets are available by calling 724-742-0400 or at the website www.thestrandtheater.org.
