During the past administration, when Congress and the presidency were under Republican control, health reform was not brought to the center of public attention and no effort was expended toward any degree of health reform. Republicans now are claiming to be working on behalf of such reform, but the record defies their claims. The record speaks for itself. Also, the American people, in the last election, considered the events that had taken place and determined to make a change to a more productive future. Instead, members of Congress chose to react in a schoolyard mentality, which has resulted in childish, irresponsible confusion that has been further encouraged by radio and television commentators. There are destined to be no positive outcomes unless Congress and the general public regain some degree of maturity.
