5 county teachers nominated for awards
PITTSBURGH - The Teacher Excellence Center has announced the top 100 teachers it will honor as part of its annual Teacher Recognition Program.
Five of those teachers will be deemed Teachers of Excellence.
More than 3,300 nominations from 63 school districts were submitted.
Five Butler County teachers have been nominated for the Teachers of Excellence awards. They are:
Vicki Stenner, Mars School District
Mark Kosick, Moniteau School District
Anne Koch, Seneca Valley School District
Mary Wildman, Seneca Valley School District
Russell Brown, Slippery Rock School District.
The winners will be announced at a banquet April 28 at the Carnegie Music Hall. The winners' schools will receive $2,500 grants.
Special guest for the event will be David Newell, who portrayed Mr. McFeely on Mister Rogers' Neighborhood.
