David Lee Lawry
David Lee Lawry, 66, of Prospect, formerly of Munhall, passed away Monday, June 28, 2021, following an illness.
Born July 2, 1954, in Grove City, he was the son of the late James F. Lawry Sr. and Anna (Rosko).
He grew up in Munhall, where he was in the first graduating class at Steel Valley High School in 1972.
He was a former junior firefighter at Munhall Volunteer Fire Company 1. After high school, he moved to Cleveland, Ohio, and recently had been a resident of Prospect for the last eight years.
He was Catholic, and attended St. Faustina Parish in Prospect.
David was a senior investment specialist for Keller Williams Realty in New Castle.
He spent many years coaching his children’s sports teams and youth basketball.
David loved his grandchildren, and enjoyed watching them play sports. He loved spending time at the family cottage at “The Rock” (Slippery Rock), and family vacations at the beach in the Outer Banks, N.C. He was an avid reader, sports fan and enjoyed pipe band competitions.
He is survived by his companion, whom he enjoyed life with, Marlene Myford Murry of Prospect; his children, Patricia (John) Clute of Olmsted Township, Ohio, Kathleen Lawry of Brook Park, Ohio, and Sean (Anna) Lawry of Brook Park, Ohio; three grandchildren, Katie Clute, John Paul “JP” Clute and Grace Lawry; his siblings, Patricia Outrakis (Nicholas, deceased), and James F. Lawry Jr. (Allyson, deceased); several nieces and nephews; and Marlene’s sons, Ben Murry and Douglas Murry, both of Pittsburgh.
LAWRY — Visitation for David Lee Lawry, who died Monday, June 28, 2021, will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Raisley Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 387 Main St., Prospect.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Christopher at the Lake Catholic Church, 229 N. Franklin St., Prospect, with the Rev. Adam M. Verona officiating.
Interment will be in Crown Hill Cemetery in Prospect.
