SRU social work program reaffirmed
SLIPPERY ROCK — The national Council on Social Work Education has reaffirmed Slippery Rock University's Social Work Program for eight years.
The backing means the program meets the council's curriculum standards for preparing graduates to work at social service agencies.
The reaffirmation followed a five-year review of program faculty, curriculum, goals, administrative structure and success of graduates.
This reaffirmation guarantees for the public that the academic standards are such that SRU's program is top-notch in the country and the state, said Thomas Bechard, assistant professor of sociology/anthropology and social work and program coordinator.
