Venue on Main has space to entertain

Venue on Main, 152 N. Main St. in Butler, has hosted events such as birthday parties, bridal showers and wakes since opening at the beginning of February.
Spot can host wakes, parties, showers, etc.

It's party time on Main Street.

Venue on Main opened recently after the business space sat vacant for four years, according to owner Sherrie Paul.

Paul and her husband, Don Paul, own the business and are looking to host any number of events. With a seating capacity of 49 people, the venue has a fully operational kitchen that can be used for a variety of events. The couple is working with several different local companies and vendors for everything from catering needs to decorations to places to stay.

Sherrie said the business has already hosted events such as birthday parties, bridal showers and wakes since opening at the beginning of February.

“It's been well-received. It's a nice little touch,” Sherrie Paul said. “It's nice to see Main Street maybe receiving a little bit more business and this space gives people an opportunity to enjoy Main Street.”

Before it closed four years ago, Sherrie Paul said the space was home to Morgan's Frozen Yogurt. After it closed, the Pauls said they used the vacant space to hold birthday parties for their grandchildren.

That led to people asking the Pauls if they would open the place for funeral wakes because, she said, there aren't many places in the area to offer that service.

“We just decided to go for it,” Sherrie Paul said. “The building is gorgeous and we kept the old-time feel. It has been crazy. A lot of people have said they can't find other places that are suitable.”

Booking for Venue on Main, located at 152 N. Main St. in Butler, can be made on its Facebook page or reached by phone at 724-496-3207.

Venue on Main invites the public to check out the space during its upcoming open house on March 12 from 5 to 8 p.m.
