7:02 p.m. Thursday — Nicholas X. Stone, 24, was arrested for allegedly assaulting Laura Antonelli 22, during a domestic dispute at the couple's Shore Street apartment. Stone was arraigned on charges of simple assault and resisting arrest, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $10,000 bond.
Thursday — An undetermined amount of candy and soda was taken between 9:30 p.m. Wednesday and 6:30 a.m. Thursday in a burglary at the Meridian Baseball Boosters' concession stand.1:55 a.m. Wednesday — Martin Rummel, 41, of Slippery Rock was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on McCalmont Road. Police said that in addition to DUI, Rummel faces charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, speeding and driving on the wrong side of the road.
7:23 p.m. Wednesday — A sport utility vehicle towing an improperly secured house trailer crashed when the trailer fishtailed on Interstate 79 in Lancaster Township. The SUV, driven by Brian Moynihan, 69, of Fairfax, Va., struck a ditch and rolled over, causing the trailer to break apart.Moynihan and a passenger, Carol Moynihan, 63, of Fairfax, suffered minor to moderate injuries; both were treated at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. Police cited Brian Moynihan for a vehicle code equipment violation.3:21 p.m. Wednesday — A mini-van driven by Ronald Schettler, 70, of Portersville and an SUV driven by Daniel Walter, 53, of Harmony collided at Route 488 and Pleasant Valley Road in Muddy Creek Township.The SUV, following the collision, struck a car stopped at the intersection. Scott Kennedy, 47, of Butler was driving the car. Police said Schettler was cited for making an illegal left turn.10 a.m. Wednesday — A van driven by Shannon Lahey, 23, of Petrolia and a car driven by Genevieve Bowser, 62, of Cabot collided on Route 422 near Cornetti Road in Clearfield Township. Police cited Lahey for an undisclosed traffic violation.
