According to the Pittsburgh Penguins, captain Sidney Crosby has been diagnosed with a concussion and will miss Wednesday's Game 4 at home against Washington.

The team posted a quote from head coach Mike Sullivan on its twitter feed: "Sid has been diagnosed with a concussion. He will be out for tomorrow's game. We will evaluate him from there."

Through eight playoff games, Crosby is tied for the team lead with four goals and seven assists for 11 points. He is averaging 17 minutes, 40 seconds per game in ice time and is a plus 2. He also scored one power play goal.

Crosby was injured in the first period of Monday's 3-2 overtime loss in Washington. Pittsburgh leads the best-of-seven series 2-1.
