SRU defeated at Gannon, 59-56

ERIE — Kelvin Dixon missed a 3-point attempt at the buzzer as the Slippery Rock University men’s basketball team lost to Gannon, 59-56, in a PSAC West road matchup Wednesday night.

The Knights led 58-51 with 3:15 remaining when the Rock scored five straight to cut the lead to 58-56 with 47 seconds remaining.

Maurice Lewis-Briggs led the Rock (16-7, 7-4) with 27 points and eight rebounds.

Tabari Perry scored 17 points and grabbed seven reounds for SRU. Dixon added 10 points for the Rock. SRU struggled from the field, shooting 39 percent.

Gannon 72, SRU (women) 39

Aidan Geise led the Rock with 11 points and eight rebounds in a resounding defeat to the No. 3 Knights.

Slippery Rock, which lost to Gannon 76-73 Dec. 3 at Morrow Field House, struggled from the field, shooting 27 percent (13 of 49).

D’Asia Chambers also contributed seven points for The Rock (4-17, 1-10).
